sync-stub

This repository hosts artefacts for the official sync stub for the MGMF modpacks. Note that this repository does NOT include source code or configurations - only documentation and sample scripts.

Note that the artefacts hosted here are designed for use with Prism Launcher and MultiMC. Manual instructions and scripts are included in this file and in the repository for other launchers / launch methods.

Instance Installation (for Prism and MultiMC)

Download the latest artefact from the releases page that matches the modpack you want to use (likely The Farm). In Prism or MultiMC, create a new instance, importing the downloaded ZIP file or mrpack. The game should then automatically pull the modpack and self-update on each launch.

Alternatively, copy the link to the desired artefact and paste it into the URL field located in the import dialog of Prism or MultiMC.

Manual stub installation (for other launchers)

Downloading the JAR

If you're using a launcher that supports Modrinth packs (.mrpack files), you can download the .mrpack from the releases page and import it into your launcher. If this is the case, skip and proceed to the next section.

  1. Download the latest version of Packwiz Installer Bootstrap from this page. It should be a .jar file.
  2. Copy or move the Bootstrap JAR file to the .minecraft directory of your Minecraft instance.

Configuring the stub

If your launcher supports custom commands (i.e. pre-launch scripts), you can use the following command to configure the stub:

java -jar packwiz-installer-bootstrap.jar https://pack.morningglorymilking.farm/pack.toml

(Your launcher may use a different Java binary per-instance - likely $INST_JAVA or $JAVA_BIN. Consult your launcher's documentation for more information.)

If your launcher does not support custom commands (i.e. Minecraft Launcher), you'll have to manually run the stub before launching for the first time (and every time an update is released). sync.sh and sync.bat are included in this repository for easy use of the stub in the terminal / command line.

Special cases

If you're using a launcher that uses an unconventional directory structure (i.e. Lunar Client), the stub will not work. You'll have to use the non-sync version of the modpack instead.
